Job Description
The research will be primarily done on a computer, and will include tasks, such as
15 to 30% literature review support on longitudinal field studies, equity, and resilience, including creating an endnote library, and finding, reading and summarizing relevant literature.
30% survey development support, including finding and archiving existing surveys, translating existing and developing new survey questions, survey formatting, and administering questionnaires to Kansas households and businesses to evaluate resilience.
5 to 50% data analysis, including data cleaning and formatting, building and running regression models, processing summary statistics; percentage will be based on student's experience in this area.
15% other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Interest in community disaster resilience and improving disaster outcomes for marginalized and under-resourced communities.
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
