Job Description:
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING COORDINATOR
The coordinator is responsible for tracking performance management of student employees, mandatory trainings, and all certifications. This position will assist with the pre-employment meetings for new student employees. The coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Student Employment and Training.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:
Ensure that all employment records are accurate and up to date.
Maintain inventory of student employee uniforms.
Track performance management for all student employees.
Serve as the Search Administrator for the department.

Student employment is one way that students find meaningful involvement at LSU. Through engagement with student employees in their hiring as well as through ongoing support, the Coordinator creates a welcoming environment that demonstrates to students that they matter and belong at the institution.
Optimize training
Student employment provides an environment in which students learn and develop skills important to them as leaders in and out of the collegiate recreation environment. The Coordinator will assist the Assistant Director of Training and Development by determining and implementing intentional training strategies to acclimate student employees into the UREC environment.

ABOUT THE DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS PRIORITIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Support (60%)
Responsible for day-to-day operations for University Recreation through administrative management along with maintaining the department's student employment records including the organization of student employee files; tracking all performance management for student employees and informs professional staff regarding negative performance management procedures; assisting with pre-employment meetings and sending all on-boarding reminders to student new hires after orientation; tracking mandatory trainings for professional and student employees; serving as the secondary student employment partner for the department; serving as the a search administrator on professional candidate searches to enhance the candidate experience as well as ensuring the proper human resources protocols are being followed; serving as back up for day-to-day recruiting, hiring, developing, and terminating of student/WAE/Transient/Ad Comp employees.
Quality Control (30%)
Ensures every aspect of student employment and training outputs including administrative tasks, implementation, and overall design exudes a high degree of quality by maintaining the inventory of student employee uniforms including conducting routine counts; ensuring accuracy of student employee data, including 350 student employee records, 8 databases, and 3 software systems; organizing all the search processes and creates an annual student employment calendar; working with student employee group supervisors to ensure adherence to departmental employment policies and practices. Embraces and executes the marginal gains approach and seeks to increase the level of all services, events, programs, and experiences in department for continuous improvement every academic year.
Other Duties as Assigned (10%)
Other duties as assigned by UREC leadership or Assistant Director. This includes but is not limited to efforts that support broad division/institution efforts including at least 40 hours per year spent helping divisional initiatives such as Move-In Day, Welcome Week, Family Weekend, Career Expo, Disability Services Finals Testing, other special projects, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
Experience working with LSU systems and procedures and working in a university environment.
1 year of experience working with Microsoft Office.
