Student Employee Tutoring & Testing Lab Assistant - North Central Michigan College

Job Description:

Pay Rate: $10.75 per hour

General Description:

An Assistant in the Tutoring and Testing Center (TTC) will be the main point of customer service in the TTC. They will be responsible for opening or closing duties, greeting all visitors to the TTC, serving as a student proctor, and other general reception or customer service duties.

Duties:

• Greet students and community members as they enter the TTC.

• Answer basic informational, directional, and TTC policy questions both in person and over the phone.

• Help patrons with basic computer issues, printing, and software

• Follow established cleaning and organization policies.

• Help students make appointments for tutoring

• Wipe down tables, computers, etc. at the end of the night.

• Check in Students for Testing Appointments.

• Ensure test security while Proctoring tests.

• Follow testing rules and procedures for administering tests .

• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at NCMC.

• Ability to work in and maintain a quiet environment.

• Posses strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Must possess strong ethical values and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Friendly demeanor.

• Good student/customer service sills with the ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty, & community members

• Basic Computer literacy.

• Willingness to learn.

• Ability to work with a diverse group of students.

• Must be a current student at NCMC and enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for Fall/Winter semesters and 3 credit hours for the summer semester.
