Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Wage: $10.75 per hour.

The SCRC Student Employee is responsible to monitor and provide a safe, clean, inclusive, enjoyable and comfortable environment and service-oriented atmosphere for fitness participants and activities of the Student Community Resource Center. The SCRC Student Employee is available to work nights, weekends, vacations and holidays as scheduled.

DUTIES:

• Conducts self in a professional manner and is attentive to patrons.

• Maintains a positive and helpful approach to people interactions by being enthusiastic, personable, and comfortable in enforcing facility rules.

• Assists in opening, closing, and maintaining a secure facility.

• Proactively cleans and routinely maintains equipment as assigned.

• Is a responder in the case of an emergency.

• Organizes and oversees the set up and tear down of planned programs scheduled on the courts.

• Monitors proper equipment use, explaining and demonstrating proper form and safe usage.

• Monitors and verifies cash deposits and financial reports and transactions in the absence of a supervisor.

• Completes daily operations tasks using the computer and software.

• Communicates to a supervisor any shift issues, potential safety issues, conflicts or emergency situations.

• Dress appropriately with staff name tag and shirt for all shifts.

• Timely report for all work shifts and do not skip work shifts.

• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Student Employees must meet guidelines as set by North Central Michigan College in the Student Employee Definition and follow policies and procedures of the College as well as:

• Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.

• Demonstrates a willingness to learn and excellence in customer service.

• Awareness of and appreciation for individual uniqueness and diversity.

• Experience with basic computer tasks and telephone etiquette including but not limited to spreadsheets, word processor, calendar, e-mail and database software.
