Job Description:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Early Childhood Education student employees are responsible for positively representing North Central Michigan College when participating in activities related to the Early Childhood Education program. ECE Student Employees work directly with the Early Childhood Education Program Coordinator to perform duties that contribute to and enhance the program's engagement with students, campus, and the community.
Up to 20 hours per week; with at shift schedule built around a students' class schedule.
$10.75 per hour
DUTIES:
Facilitate weekly Playgroups.
Assist in the coordination of campus-wide activities that relate to children, families, and community.
Serve as a program ambassador at early childhood related events and conferences that the NCMC-ECE program participates in.
Serve as a program ambassador for visiting groups that will include prospective students and their parents, middle or high school classes, and others.
Assists in the maintenance and organization of the Early Childhood Education Building.
Conduct self in a professional manner.
Maintain a positive and helpful approach to people interactions by being enthusiastic and personable.
Be punctual, reliable, and conscientious in the performance of all duties.
Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Student Employees must meet guidelines as set by North Central Michigan College in the Student Employee Definition and follow policies and procedures of the College as well as:
Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at NCMC.
Be an Early Childhood Education program student.
Demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate with parents and community members.
Demonstrates a willingness to learn.
Awareness of and appreciation for individual uniqueness and diversity.
Experience with basic computer tasks and telephone etiquette.
Ability and willingness to work both in a teamwork setting and independently.
