Summary of Job Duties:
The Student Coordinator position plays a crucial role in the education of health professions students at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). As the Student Coordinator, you will work closely with directors, coordinators, and administration both on the main campus and with Regional Programs throughout Arkansas to coordinate rotations, orientation activities, housing, and other elements that play a crucial role in fostering a positive and productive learning environment and overall student experience.

Bachelor's degree in business, education, computing or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience coordinating education programs or experience in student coordination or administrative support, managing projects, goals, and other assignments.
Prior experience with medical student education is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Effective communication skills and communicating accurate and complete information.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when necessary.
Ability to demonstrate positive working relationships.
Ability to prepare oral and written technical information and reports.

Key Responsibilities:
Student Coordination
Work closely with Regional Programs (REP) administration, site directors, and coordinators to coordinate and organize student schedules, evaluations, housing, events, and activities, ensuring timely planning, promotion, and execution.
Serve as the main contact for medical, pharmacy, physician assistant, and other health professions students, ensuring they are welcomed, informed, and supported during their rotation.
Collect and analyze data related to student enrollment and satisfaction, using the findings to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Oversee the course roster for the various REP medical, pharmacy, physician assistant, and other student specialty rotations, as approved.
Conduct onsite orientation for rotations at the respective REP site.
Compose daily rotation schedules and supervise students to ensure all required clinics and didactic sessions are attended.
Assist the Central Student Coordinators with monitoring and obtaining preceptor evaluations.
Assist the Central Student Coordinators with the annual site selection process for medical student rotations, attending the informational meetings and promoting the respective REP site.
Assist the Central Student Coordinators with maintaining the REP Medical Student Education (MSE) website.
Attend monthly REP student coordinator meetings.
Promote various MSE programs and recruitment events, attending when necessary.
Oversee student housing for medical students, pharmacy students, physician assistant students, and other learners.
Coordinate the housing schedule, provide occupants with necessary housing information, obtain housing agreements, and conduct check in/check out procedures.
Address housing issues and concerns and escalate to the Central Student Coordinator or REP Administrative Director as necessary.
Routinely monitor contents and condition of housing and coordinate cleaning schedules after each stay.
Administrative Support
Stay updated on institutional policies, procedures, and regulations related to student affairs and ensure compliance within the assigned area of responsibility.
Enter data for student rotations in the REP IT Savvy Database upon completion of each rotation, including student information, rotation dates and total number of hours, and faculty preceptor information.
Provide administrative support to the assigned REP faculty. Includes scheduling, travel coordination, purchasing, minute taking, serving as the facilities contact person, and other duties as assigned.
Work with members of the administrative support group to ensure adequate telephone coverage, mail distribution, and various clerical duties as assigned.
Work collaboratively with the REP residency coordinator to plan for medical student interaction with residents in the clinic and in didactic sessions.
Work on special projects and events as assigned.
May perform other duties as assigned.
