What You Will Do

As a Student Development Coordinator with St. Vincent's Health System-AL, you will have the opportunity to plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate all Student Development activities associated with the Jeremiah's Hope Academy (JHA). JHA is a job skills training program that exists to equip persons for entry-level healthcare positions.


  • Provides overall leadership in the planning, organizing and implementing of all student development/services, including long and short-term goals, annual budget/expenditures, and student leadership programs. Conducts institutional research related to retention, student satisfaction and follow-up.

  • Coordinates and directs support services to assist students in attaining positive outcomes, consistent with policies and accreditation requirements. Provides career services including counseling, general and job placement information.

  • Directs the development, compilation and dissemination of publications for student development programs.

  • Serves as leader and student advocate with students, faculty, staff and the community. Provides assistance and support with student discipline and code of conduct.

Works directly with employees and departments to provide a supportive and effective environment where employees can develop their skills to enhance their proficiency and effectiveness in their current roles and grow into future advanced roles for the mutual benefit of the Company and the individual. Leads the effort to capture all training records in the LMS system. * Identifies skill or knowledge gaps among the organization's employee population and develops training content in response to identified training needs. Selects training tools or training delivery mechanisms, based on the material being taught and the audience being targeted. Duties include analysis of development/training needs, development and implementation of training plans and procedures in response to those specific needs, preparation of all necessary training materials, and facilitate, monitor external instructors, assessing the impact of training programs by measuring employee understanding of the subject matter. * Formulates teaching outlines and determines appropriate instructional method such as individual training, group instruction, lecture, demonstration, coaching, conference, meeting, workshop, etc. Assists also with the selection and/or development of teaching aids such as training handbooks, computer tutorials, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and reference work. * Creates and maintains course content, manuals, or other training materials, as needed. Also serves as an Administrator/Assessor as needed. * Maintains files and records in a neat and organized manner and ensures that this information is always accessible whenever needed. * Registers students for classes and reserve rooms for meetings. Coordinates set-ups for Eagan College classes, Employee Onboarding, and meetings with Employee Services Coordinator. Verifies Eagan College class attendance and enters class evaluations. * Enters information as requested into the various Human Resources databases. * Assists with the preparation of presentations as needed. * Assists with special projects, community events and participates in various operational excellence teams. * Keeps work area clean and orderly. Knows safety rules that apply to the safety of others and to personal safety. Reports malfunction of equipment to proper authority. Performs other work as instructed by supervision. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Must exhibit a B.S. degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development or related field. An official grade transcript from the school will be required. Consideration will also be given to candidates with other B.S. degrees from an accredited four-year college or university, who also possess prior work experience either in employee development or training. * Must exhibit prior work experience in the field of employee development or training. Consideration will also be given to candidates who possess five (5) or more years of prior work experience in Human Resources. * Must exhibit ability to learn. Weight will be given to grades in related courses and previous related experience. * Must exhibit two (2) or more years of prior work experience using advanced functionality of a learning management system (LMS) and the ability to become proficient in the administration of the Company's LMS within six (6) months. * Must exhibit tolerance for stress.
