Minimum Qualifications:

General:

  • Applicants must be current Miami students

Tutoring:

  • Maintain good academic standing

  • Maintain a 3.0 minimum GPA

Mentoring:

  • Maintain good academic standing

  • Maintain at least a 2.8-3.2 GPA

Preferred Qualifications:

General:

  • Ability to work after 5 PM

  • Work Study

  • Maintain a 3.5 GPA

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Average typing speed

  • Reliable, with excellent attendance habits

  • Detail-oriented

  • Courteous, welcoming demeanor and dedication to assist students, parents, faculty, and staff

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to work in an independent work environment with minimal supervision

  • Ability to work well under stress and time pressure

Peer Tutoring:

  • Ability to work in a group setting

Peer Mentoring:

  • Prior experience with conflict resolution in a previous position (i.e. in a job, student organization, volunteer project)

Special Instructions to Applicants:

Applicants must upload a resume and provide at least 2 references. Ideally, one reference should be from a previous employer and the other should be from a professor who can speak to the student's skills.
