SPE's School of Undergraduate Studies (SUS) seeks a reliable, mature graduate student with strong office, social media and Wordpress skills to start work immediately. The student must be able to work through fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters.

Assistants work closely with staff and faculty on a variety of tasks. The office assistant's clerical responsibilities include covering our virtual reception desk; answering phones; assisting students; scheduling advising appointments; and creating Excel and Google docs. A professional demeanor and attention to detail are essential.
Communications projects include posting items to Wordpress blogs, Facebook and Twitter and also assisting with a Mailchimp newsletter. Some availability in the evenings is desirable to set up and monitor Zoom events.

Federal work student applicants attach your FWS authorization. Be sure to note the days and times you are available and your phone number. Our office hours are 10 am to 6 pm M-F plus occasional evening events. Ideal candidates will work 20 hours a week and should be located in the Eastern United States time zone (EST). They should be able to work on site in New York City if the campus reopens in spring 2021.

VIEW JOBS 9/9/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-12-08T00:00 The Eugene Lang College Dean's Office is hiring a Graduate Student to support key projects of the Director of Student Programs & Special Programs, collaborating with various full time staff at Lang and the New School to ensure projects run smoothly. This position is 10-15 hours per week and runs from September 2020 to May 2021. This role seeks someone who has been successful in applying for grants, scholarships or other application-based opportunities. The major goal of this position is to raise awareness of and application to Engaged Learning Opportunities at Lang, especially with students who have not applied to opportunities before. It is helpful if applicants have a somewhat flexible schedule that includes days, evening, and occasional weekends. Responsibilities Outreach for Engaged Learning Opportunities At Lang, there are numerous opportunities for our students to connect their interests to real-world experiences outside of the classroom through Lang-sponsored fellowships, grants, and symposia. The Graduate Assistant will promote these opportunities by: Reaching out to faculty at Lang to participate in class visits (virtually in the fall 2020 semester) Reaching out to student support groups and organizations such as the BSU, [First Gen Group], La Xente etc to encourage applications from a diverse group of students Advising students on their application materials for Engaged Learning Opportunities (via scheduled zoom or phone calls) Holding office hours to discuss opportunities at Lang (virtually in the fall 2020 semester) Serving as a resource for students in connecting with the central scholarship office Engaged Learning Committee This committee seeks to share information among all of the various administrators of fellowship and grant opportunities at Lang. Support reporting processes and data gathering Support application procedure for all Engaged Learning grants (virtually in the fall 2020 semester) Specific duties: * help to publicize opportunities (flyers, social media, emails to faculty, class visits) * monitor applications * help prepare application review materials * take notes at meetings * support reporting process * hold office hours to support student applications The New School New York NY
