Job Summary:
The Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) is committed to equitable access for students with disabilities at Lamar University. ARC student assistants provide clerical support, answering questions in person, by phone, and e-mail about services and support for students with disabilities at LU. They also provide support and proctoring for students testing within the ARC.
Job Duties:
Respond to walk-in, phone, and e-mail inquiries about services for students with disabilities.
Guide students in electronic registration and service request processes.
Monitor new registration applications and schedule intake meetings.
Student testing proctor: scheduling, check-in, monitoring.
Handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality and integrity.
Clerical support: scanning, printing, organizing, on-campus mail pick up, on-campus exam delivery.
Participate in outreach activities: Transition Workshop, Admitted Student Day, Cardinal View, Orientation, etc. to share information about services for students with disabilities.
Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for students with disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have completed at least one semester at Lamar University.
Excellent communication skills.
Dependable and reliable work ethic.
Respect confidentiality
Attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task.
Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of students with disabilities.
Physical Requirements
