Posting Summary

Rutgers School of Public Health is looking for a Student Assistant for its Firefighter Cancer Assessment & Prevention Study (CAPS) located in Piscataway, NJ. This position will be responsible for data collection, database management, cleaning, and analysis. This position will also assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts related to study findings.

Duties include:

  • Assist with ongoing data collection (both quantitative and qualitative) and coordination for CAPS.

  • Attend weekly research team meetings.

  • Assist with data cleaning and database management.

  • Help facilitate study activities in the field.

  • Review selected literature relevant to study activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be a current Rutgers student.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and statistical computing software (SAS).

  • Strong communication and analytical skills.

  • Must possess ability to pay close attention to detail and collaborate with research team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student at Rutgers School of Public Health (SPH), or successfully completed MPH graduate program, preferred.
