Student Assistance Program Counselor (Part-Time, 10-Month Position)

Family Services is a non-profit organization that protects, heals, and cares for children and families throughout Northeast Wisconsin. Family Services is strongly committed to protecting children and vulnerable individuals from abuse and exploitation.

When traumatic situations occur, our staff is there to assist the individual or family with their journey of healing and recovery. Family Services cares for individuals who are isolated, abandoned, or just need help developing the skills to live successfully.

Our Student Assistance program has a part-time opening, working an average of 16 hours per week for as a Counselor. The Student Assistance Program Counselor helps determine service needs and delivers the necessary services to the students while working closely with the school personnel.

This position provides direct service to youth including 1:1 meetings; groups; parent/staff education; and crisis intervention. Additionally, the Counselor provides social skills, life skills, daily living skills, and anger/coping skills training to youth involved with our programming as well as helping the students process daily situations with students, link the students and/or families with community resources, and collaborate with other service providers including school personnel.

This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience working with youth and/or families or equivalent education. Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services or related field.

This is a 10-month, school-year position.
