The Julien J. Studley Graduate Program in International Affairs (SGPIA) is hiring a Student Advisor. The Student Advisor reports to the Associate Director of SGPIA and supports all aspects of academic advising in the program.
Advisors are responsible for providing general advisement, meeting with students, and providing administrative support to a number of complex and confidential projects.
Assist students with questions regarding academics and administrative support
Maintain and update student records and data, including documentation of student interactions, in relevant institutional systems (Banner, DegreeWorks, Starfish, NACElink) accurately and in a timely manner
Process transfer credit evaluation requests, advanced placement and advanced standing requests, exceptions to degree requirements, degree audits to determine student eligibility to graduate, probationary status, and dismissals
Respond to advisement requests through our departments email account
Assist in planning and participate in student orientation and other events, such as graduation, throughout the semester
Support for course scheduling for Full-time/Part-time faculty
Support Associate Director and administrative staff with advising and registration
Maintain SGPIA program page on university official website
Perform other duties and/or special writing and research projects as assigned
