The Department of Student Involvement & Belonging (SIB) is "Where Students Connect!" We promote the holistic growth and development of Oregon Tech students through involvement and support. We create a community where all feel a sense of belonging. SIB provides opportunities for student engagement that is both beyond and interconnected with the academic experience. These include four department pillars:

• Welcome to the Roost: Engage in welcoming activities such as Orientation S.O.A.R.-ing Into Success, and Week of Welcome (WOW) programs for new and returning Owls. Gain tools and resources through the Peer Mentorship Program, and the various online resources such as the Oregon Tech App and CLUB HOOTIE to help you succeed and soar while at Oregon Tech.

• Get Involved: Learn about the over 65 Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) across all Oregon Tech campuses to enhance your student experience while making friends, gaining leadership skills, and getting connected with peers from various interests, identities, and more.

• Lead Change: Tune into opportunities that fine tune your leadership and cultural competency skills while at Oregon Tech and prepare for your industry-specific career as a marketable leader. Along with community service offerings as a Volunteer Owl to support local communities.

• Embrace Diversity: Opportunities to step away from the familiar, get out of your comfort zone, try new ideas, experience new cultures, and learn from people different from yourself through attending and participating in various student activities, student organizations, and more.

Position Summary

The Department of Student Involvement and Belonging with the Division of Student Affairs on the Klamath Falls campus of Oregon Tech is accepting applications for the Classified role of Student Activities Support Coordinator (Program Representative 1) with preference to be applied to Internal candidates. The Student Activities Support Coordinator (Program Representative I) creates and supports a holistic student experience responsible for supporting the vision, initiatives, programs, and daily operations in the Department of Student Involvement & Belonging.

The Student Activities Support Coordinator provides support to program, event, and activity coordination, administrative departmental duties, and student employee supervision.

• Programs, Events, & Activities Coordination: Assist Departmental Staff and Events (40%)
• Administrative Duties: Procurement, Card Custodian, Contracts, & Travel Coordination (35%)
• Student Employee Supervision: Office Assistant and Student Staff Support (20%)
• Other Duties: Support Departmental Mission (5%)

Minimum Requirements

Two years of technical or professional-level experience advising and/or instructing the public concerning specific programs or processes, monitoring programs, or performing participant reviews.

Additional Requirements

• Experience providing excellent customer service.

• Proficiency using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or similar software.

• Ability to work efficiently, independently, and in team situations.

• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing projects.

• Experience coordinating large events.

• Experience using Banner.

• Experience working with college students, especially in the context of a student organization or student support service.

• Experience working in higher education.
