A successful Student Accounts Specialist will:
Ensure compliance by understanding, applying, and effectively communicating to students and parents, federal, state, and institutional regulations.
Manage and become the expert for student account and financial aid processes, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Provide compassionate guidance and support to students and their families as they navigate the financial aid and student account processes.
Ability to identify opportunities to implement change to better serve students and improve efficiency.
Engage in proactive communication with past due students for delinquent accounts, administering and monitoring payment plans.
Effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds
Requirements:
Associate degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Understanding and interest in customer service.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work within structure and deadlines in a timely manner.
Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office software.
Team oriented and ability to multi-task.
A maturing and contagious Christian faith, knowledge of and willingness to actively support the Christian mission of the University and accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community.
Additional Information:
After an initial training period, a partial hybrid remote schedule is available, employee must reside in WA state.
Annual pay: $48,418, $23.28 per hour
This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes generous contributions to an employee HSA account and a 7% contribution to a retirement account, for eligible employees, with immediate vesting in the plan. Tuition discount program (50% - 90%) available for the employee and qualified immediate family members.
