Job Description:

A successful Student Accounts Specialist will:

  • Ensure compliance by understanding, applying, and effectively communicating to students and parents, federal, state, and institutional regulations.

  • Manage and become the expert for student account and financial aid processes, with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Provide compassionate guidance and support to students and their families as they navigate the financial aid and student account processes.

  • Ability to identify opportunities to implement change to better serve students and improve efficiency.

  • Engage in proactive communication with past due students for delinquent accounts, administering and monitoring payment plans.

  • Effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Understanding and interest in customer service.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work within structure and deadlines in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office software.

  • Team oriented and ability to multi-task.

  • A maturing and contagious Christian faith, knowledge of and willingness to actively support the Christian mission of the University and accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community.

Additional Information:

After an initial training period, a partial hybrid remote schedule is available, employee must reside in WA state.

Annual pay: $48,418, $23.28 per hour

This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes generous contributions to an employee HSA account and a 7% contribution to a retirement account, for eligible employees, with immediate vesting in the plan. Tuition discount program (50% - 90%) available for the employee and qualified immediate family members.
