JOB TITLE SUMMARY
Job Title: Student Accounts Collections Representative

Job Summary
The student accounts collections representative focuses on the collections' efforts for both in-school and out-of-school student accounts with a past due balance. This position is directly responsible for initiating targeted efforts towards collecting and servicing out-of-school students. The student accounts collections representative also maintains records and reconciles transactions, specifically focusing on student accounts receivable.

Job Responsibilities and Execution
Processes billing statements for students with a past due balance
Responsible for daily outreach efforts to collect past due balances and address inbound inquiries
Reviews transactions to ensure compliance with University policies, procedures, and administrative requirements
Receives and processes University monies, including cash, checks, credit card, and electronic funds transactions; codes and posts transactions accurately and in a timely manner
Initiates concentrated efforts towards collecting and servicing out-of-school students with their account balances
Service Excellence
Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University's values
Provides customer support for people with questions, concerns, or problems related to particular accounting functions or regulations
Communication, Teamwork, and Collaboration
Reconciles transactions by notifying departments of any known discrepancies and providing balanced records
Works with collections agencies and collections manager to reconcile student accounts and agency records
Provides assistance to Student Accounts staff as needed
Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 2 years related professional experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Ability to create and assess financial aid packages and calculations
Ability to coordinate with other departments
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Ability to facilitate meetings with students and families
Strong professional integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Ability to use good judgment, think critically, and multi-task
Knowledge of general office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite and financial aid proprietary applications
