Job Description
The Student Accessibility Services Coordinator, under general direction of the director, assists in the daily operations of services and programs administered by the Office of Student Accessibility Services. In-office position in Stephenville Texas with work hours of Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate which may include afterhours/late hours as needed; Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.
Responsibilities:
Provides direct services to students that identify as Deaf or Hard of Hearing (HOH) and other students seeking accommodations.
Oversees the daily operation of the office, services administered including coordinating accommodation request process, faculty training, and consultation.
Reviews accommodation applications, communicates with students pertaining to documentation and arranges student appointments to meet with the director.
Provides accurate information and guidance to stakeholders such as incoming students, parents, faculty and staff, contacting the office about accommodations.
Assists with hiring, training, and supervision of graduate assistant staff.
Design, development and implementation of student-centered programming and supports focusing on students with differing learning abilities.
Collaborate with various offices/departments on campus to ensure appropriate access to university programs.
Serves on assigned committees.
Additional tasks/duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Rehabilitation.
Level 1 or above Interpreter certification from the Texas Commission for the Deaf or Registry of Interpreters for Deaf.
Two years of experience in American Sign Language Interpretation.
Experience in providing interpreting services in an educational setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act and other applicable Federal and State laws.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adhere to federal and state regulations pertaining to the storage of confidential student documentation.
Ability to interpret standard psychological assessments and diagnostic methods for use in determining accommodations.
Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
Appropriate certifications, licensure, and/or registration as determined by specified professional field of study.

Commensurate with experience
The target base annual salary is commensurate with experience and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
