Your work will be in support of aircraft/airframe structural stress analysis.

This is an opportunity to do valuable work in your degree field for a large contractor with possible long term employment after graduation.


Engineering Majors, the Huntsville, AL campus of Perspecta is looking for applicants for the 10 week summer intern program.

We have openings for 2 paid Structural Engineer Interns available to work 30-35 hours a week.

Applicants should be rising juniors, seniors or Grad students in Aerospace, Mechanical or Civil Engineering disciplines that have completed course work in Structures, Stress, Finite Analysis or similar as a minimum.

Your work will be in support of aircraft/airframe structural stress analysis.

This is an opportunity to do valuable work in your degree field for a large contractor with possible long term employment after graduation.

Ability to obtain and keep a security Clearance will be necessary for permanent employment.

The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below. Basic Qualifications: This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Engineer Systems or a Engineer Systems. BQs for an Engineer Systems are 2 Years applicable experience with a Bachelors in Science, in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline; 3 Years with Masters; 0 with PhD; 0 Years with Masters. BQs for a Principal Engineer Systems are 5 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science in Science,Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline; 3 Years with Masters; 0 with PhD Experience in data analysis or software development. * Ability to support periodic travel to Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona and other test and integration sites in the continental United States * Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical personnel - Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook * Active Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with network forensics using tools such as Wireshark * Experience applying statistical methods to datasets to characterize system behavior and optimize performance * Experience with managed network devices and systems such as Cisco switches and routers * Experience with wireless point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and multipoint communication devices and systems * Experience developing software in Python, JAVA, and/or MATLAB * Experience with database management systems including Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite, and/or MySQL * Experience with Agile Development lifecycle process * Experience with user interface design * Experience with software version control tools and practices (Git, TortoiseSVN, or other) Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
