MAU is hiring a Structure Engineer I at our client in Greer, SC. As a Structure Engineer I, you will coordinate the installation of structure-related systems for existing and new models in conjunction with process requirements. You will also monitor and evaluate the structure systems operational, technical, and mechanical status related to the overall system performance, design specifications, and total throughput of the assembly facility. This is a contract, long-term assignment.

Required Education and Experience
General Requirements
Strong strategic thinking and problem resolution
Proven knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing process
Intermediate management, team building, and communication skills
Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Requirements
Essential Functions
Coordinate and plan all structure refurbishments and modifications to the facility, including truss reinforcements, utility relocation, concrete replacement, resurfacing, and painting of floors, and investment planning and tracking
Develop and maintain a working relationship with contractors and facilities engineering central planning
Oversee visiting contractors on site and advise on civil engineering issues
Ensure that assembly remains in line with all code issues (i.e., Fire Marshall, Insurance Company, etc.)
Evaluate and report on the impact of model allocation on the assembly structure
Establish and maintain standards and specifications
Coordinate technical and feasibility studies and site investigations with the Facilities Group
Coordinate the assessment of potential risks of specific projects, undertaking risk management in specialist roles
Supervise tendering procedures and proposal formulation
Coordinate effective communication and liaison with colleagues, architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers, and clients
Manage budgets and other project resources for all projects assigned
Review and approve project drawings
Coordinate the compilation and approval of all construction reports
Coordinate the adoption of all relevant requirements around issues such as building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices, and safety on all work assignments
Lead the correcting of any project deficiencies that affect production, quality, and safety requirements before final evaluation and project reviews
Plan secondary media
Support planning activities for conveyor refurbishments, modifications/installations, including concept, design approval, specifications, RFQ, schedule, installation, commissioning, startup, training, buy-off, and investment planning/tracking
Authorize/approve all system modifications and assist in their development where necessary
Continually evaluate system performance to improve efficiency and reliability
Provide cost estimates for system modification or extraordinary maintenance items as requested by maintenance planning
Develop and maintain expertise in the following as they relate to conveyors: modifications, engineering, standard and specification, and system functional design capabilities
Remain familiar with the engineering, maintenance, operations, and administrative procedures and policies that govern plant operations, including technical specification and safety
Perform other tasks as required
