Plans, lays out, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts of structural metal products. Welds, tacks and assembles together metal components of products such as modules, structural steel, pipe racks and plate welding with electric arc-welding equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Able to read isometric drawings and determine which specifications to use.
Must know how to properly set up and maintain welding machines and associated equipment for welding.
Must be able to inspect and operate all power tools associated with welding in a safe and productive manner.
Have good knowledge in industrial construction and characteristics of all equipment and functions related to the position.
Must be able to weld flat, vertical and overhead positions.
Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in a team environment.
Should have a positive attitude and be able to handle difficult and challenging situations.
Must be able to perform work in a safe manner that meets company and client standards.
Be able to identify hazardous or un safe situations and communicate to others.
Have the ability to adapt to changing work and environmental conditions.
Have willingness to take on other duties and help out other team members.
Must have strong knowledge of rigging.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Minimum five (5) years experience as a structural welder required.
Minimum three (3) years North Slope specific experience in a related position required,
Must be able to pass structural welding test flat, vertical and overhead.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and extreme cold. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
