The Colorado Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (DMVA) has four major operational divisions: Army National Guard, Air National Guard, Civil Air Patrol, and Veterans Affairs. These divisions utilize State and Federal resources to provide our communities, State, and Nation with a ready military force for national defense and state emergency response as well as providing assistance to our Colorado Veterans.

Description of Job
This position is part of our Army National Guard division and will work at our Buckley Space Force as part of the Army Facilities Management branch. This position will work as part of a team to perform general trades maintenance activities Working hours are Tuesday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Minimum Qualifications
Must be able to perform physical work involving general tasks including hauling, lifting, moving, and digging;
Must have a mechanical aptitude.
Must be willing and able to operate a variety of hand tools and equipment.
Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Must possess a valid and current State of Colorado Driver's License.
Conditions of Employment
Must be willing to pass a background check at initial employment and every few years thereafter.
Continued employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a security clearance within the first nine months of employment.
Must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
Must be willing to work overtime and on-call as needed.
Must be willing to work after hours or pre-hours performing snow removal operations and/or assisting other areas as needed.

Appeal Rights

As an applicant directly affected by the results of the selection or comparative analysis process, you may file a written appeal with the State Personnel Director.
Review of the completed, signed and submitted appeal will be timely on the basis of written material submitted by you, using the official appeal form signed by you or your representative. This form must be completed and delivered to the State Personnel Board by email at dpa_state.personnelboard@state.co.us within ten (10) calendar days from your receipt of notice or acknowledgement of the Department's action.
