Structural Steel Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Structural Steel Inspector in the Columbus, OH area. The Inspector will perform on-site observations of steel connections, bolting, and more on various structural steel construction projects. Responsible for reporting and tracking any discrepancies through the completion of the project, and communicating with construction managers and construction crews to observe the quality of the steel erection. Seeking an experienced Inspector who can hit the ground running.

Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site observations of steel construction projects.

• Consistent communication with construction managers and construction crew to observe the quality of the steel erection.

• Responsible for reporting and tracking any discrepancies through the completion of the project.

• Authority to reject and resolve conflict within scope of authority.

• Adhere to strict safety standards

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must haves:

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required

• International Code Council (ICC) S1 and S2 certifications required

• 10+ years structural steel inspection experience strongly preferred

• Proficient in reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications

• High school diploma

Nice to have:

• Fall protection/ confined space certifications

• Engineering or related degree
