We are currently seeking a Structural Project Engineer- Bridges in either of our Philadelphia, Allentown, Harrisburg or King of Prussia, PA offices.Job SummaryProvides coordination of project execution and control, in a given discipline area, to achieve continuity of purpose within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through project closeout. Also accountable for handling specific design aspects on projects appropriate to discipline field. Coordinates efforts of assigned design team to ensure completeness and accuracy of design effort. Serves as technical liaison with client on project efforts. Responsible for gross revenue of Essential Responsibility * Responsible for the delivery of project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule. * Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team's work. Guides team to overall project objectives. * Serves as technical liaison with client at staff level for work within the discipline. * Assists with project management duties. * Performs other duties as assigned.Additional Responsibilities- Develop project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, quantities and cost estimates- Responsible for cost control on projects and quality control within bridge discipline- Resolve problems, interpret engineering specifications, investigate design and field engineering difficulties and coordinate schedules- Manage single and multi-discipline structural engineering projects and develop cost-effective design solutions- Provide technical guidance and mentoring of project team members, including other engineers and technical support staff (CADD techs) - Lead a small team of engineers in the execution of project design and production on both small and large projects- Prepare and check design drawings and/or specifications- Review and check engineering work completed by others- Oversee planning, design and construction phases of projects- Serve as technical liaison with client on project efforts- Market to clients in pursuit of additional projects Basic Qualification Bachelor's degree in Engineering 6 years relevant experience Preferred Qualification/Skills- A Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; MSCE preferred.- A Professional Engineer license, Pennsylvania PE preferred.- Pennsylvania DOT and rail bridge design and construction experience preferred.- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.- Able to work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.- 6+ years of experience in bridge design, studies, and plan preparation preferably on PENNDOT and/or transit agency projects. *LI-MBGeneral Work Conditions Combination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client's job site, construction trailer, and in the field. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment and doing extensive walking. Basic Functions: Performs engineering activities for design, development, and implementation of new products and manufacturing processes. Supports project engineers, program management and operations personnel on assigned projects. Position Requires: Education/Learning Experience Minimum BS in Engineering or related discipline, preferably in physics, optics, materials science, electrical or mechanical engineering. Master's Preferred. Work Experience 1 - 3 Years Project Engineering experience (entry level position). Experience with Optical Fabrication, Optical Design, Optical Assembly, Optical Test, and CAD capabilities preferred.
