Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented Structural Mechanical Technician 4 located in Redondo Beach, CA with responsibilities including but not limited to the following:
Experience with setup and testing of large scale and subcomponent level structures specific to spacecraft structural development.
Extensive experience in test fixture fabrication.
Team player. Works well with a small team of mechanical technicians
Has a working knowledgeable and is skilled at operating structural & systems test equipment
Good with hand tools, test equipment, performing inspections, supporting test setup & conducting mechanical tests.
Be able to work from engineering drawings, sketches and verbal instructions.
Perform annual recertification proof load testing of program and capital support equipment.
High School Diploma OR General Education Diploma (G.E.D) plus 6 years' experience as a technician.
Experience working from at least one of the following: Blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics or written instructions.
Must be able to support 2nd/3rd shift work when necessary
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or SCI Clearance.
Some machining and hydraulics experience is preferred.
Individual must have knowledge of standard rigging procedures.
Be capable of working at heights up to 25'.
Current active security clearance
