Tetra Tech's Bellevue design center office is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join our multi-disciplined team which specializes in innovative planning, engineering, and design solutions for dams, flood risk reduction, inland navigation, waterfront, ports, hydropower, and transit structures.
In this position you will work closely with national industry leaders and local experts to support clients with structural design support. You will provide expertise for marine facilities, concrete and steel bridges, flood walls, pump stations, navigation locks, dam structures, and waterfront structures. This position offers multiple growth opportunities, in both technical expertise and project management as part of our team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Structural design and analysis of civil works structures, bridges and pump stations.
Produce calculations using engineering formulas and skills for project design.
Research design options and document findings for Project or Senior Engineer.
Assist engineers with design and construction.
Solve problems using a combination of standards and modified standard procedures or methods developed in prior assignments.
Provide information to Project or Senior Engineer for incorporation into specifications.
Contact and coordinate with other departments to research appropriate course of action.
Consult with suppliers or contractors to interpret specifications or other contract criteria.
Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's Degree desired).
5+ years of relevant structural engineering experience.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) certification (Required).
Experience with structural design methods, codes and standards, and tools. Must be familiar with computer design tools including spreadsheets, and FEA/structural analysis software.
Demonstrated experience with computer-based design tools (such as SAP2000, CSIBridge, and/or LPILE).
Microsoft Office software and CADD/BIM experience / understanding desired.
Experience with concrete and steel design.
Experience with creating drawings, and preparing specifications.
Demonstrated educational and relevant work experience showing strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
