We are currently seeking a full-time structural engineer to be an integral member of our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have considerable building design experience, involving institutional or commercial projects, from schematic design through construction administration. Bachelors degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering
Masters degree is a plus, but not required.
PE registration

Required Skills

Strong analytical and design skills.
Masonry, steel, concrete, and wood framing experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with structural analysis and design software (Tekla and TEDDs).
Ability to successfully organize and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
Ability to work effectively within an A/E environment with a commitment to fostering collaborative teamwork.
Ability to travel to project sites and interact with contractors.
Experience with Autodesk Revit (BIM).

Duties will include preparation of design drawings, specifications, and reports, as well as generating studies and cost estimates. Successful candidates should have experience designing industrial and/or bridge structures using applicable codes (IBC, AASHTO, ASCE-7), as well as material design codes (AISC, ACI concrete, ACI masonry, etc.). Proficiency using finite element software (STAAD, RISA), CAD, and spreadsheets is required. Individual shall be self-motivated, able to manage time effectively, and able to stay within defined project budgets and work scopes. Good people skills are necessary to work collaboratively as part of a design team and to communicate with clients, other project personnel, and management.This individual should also be able to work independently and collaboratively.
