We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer or Civil Engineer with experience in structural engineering, to join our growing practice providing multi-discipline engineering and environmental solutions to clients in the water environment and industrial sectors. Depending on candidate qualifications, this position may be located in any of our KJ office locations, with the option to work from home or hybrid.

What you'll do:

As part of our team, you will provide structural engineering consulting services. This role will involve working in a multidisciplinary team to provide structural engineering solutions for a wide variety of clients throughout the western United States including:

  • Municipal Agencies

  • Special Districts

  • Universities and Colleges

  • Corporate Campuses

  • Industrial Facilities

In this position you will have the opportunity to provide structural consulting services that enhance our clients' facilities, services, and budgets. Enjoy the opportunity to work in concrete, steel, wood, masonry and composite construction to deliver structural solutions for projects both large and small. Expect to use BIM tools to deliver many of these projects, and to provide clients with interactive environments to provide meaningful input on projects from the initial planning stages, through design and construction.

What you'll need:

  • 3+ years of experience as a consulting engineer focused on structural design

  • Experience in the detailed design of large infrastructure projects such as pump stations, reservoirs and water and wastewater treatment facilities highly preferred

  • Experience serving as a discipline lead engineer in the design of structures for industrial or municipal infrastructure projects preferred

  • Candidates must possess a BS in civil engineering. MS preferred.

  • PE or SE required

Salary range in Colorado is approximately $90,000 to $140,000, depending upon experience and qualifications. Learn more at Responsibilities: * Collaboration with interdisciplinary project teams, including providing expertise for a variety of structural engineering projects (e.g., investigation, troubleshooting and repair of existing systems; and design, detailing, and specialty consulting for new systems) * Project management, including client development, project scoping, assembling and managing appropriate project teams, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and managing client expectations and deliverables * Contributions to company-wide objectives through mentoring, participation in office and company research and development initiatives, participation with in-house Technical Resource Groups (TRGs), involvement in professional organizations, and business development to attract new and repeat clients Qualifications: * Minimum of eight years' relevant industry experience (15+ years preferred), including technical and project management experience in the investigation, design, analysis, and/or repair of various new and existing structural materials and systems, including concrete, steel, wood, masonry, and other structural systems * Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) or Professional Engineer (PE), as applicable by state * Master's degree or better in civil/structural engineering or related field (significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of an advanced degree) * Effective technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication skills * Demonstrated competence in transitioning quickly between multiple priorities while maintaining effective coworker and client relationships Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires visual acuity and listening ability. Individuals must have the dexterity to be able to operate office and field equipment such as computer, printer, copier, telephone, voice mail system, and other office and field equipment.
