JLM Talent Partners is seeking a Structures Engineer with Bridge, Roadway, or Structures experience to join a multi billion dollar project in Selma, CA. The Structure Engineer provides support to the Construction Manager. The support goals include production tracking, operational planning, communicating, organizing, implementing, and tracking project data.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with foremen and superintendents to ensure that work plans are tracked and analyzed to maximize efficiency in the field operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and report the daily quantities installed and performed
  • Analyze and compare budgeted vs actual production rates and yield in materials
  • Perform quantity take-offs from plans and contrast weekly field quantities and plan quantities
  • Assist in the development of Work Activity Plans
  • Provide monthly quantity reports for verification of owner quantities and monthly billing
  • Assist in ensuring that field work is being constructed within project standards and specifications
  • Provide support for project engineers and superintendents as required
  • Maintain and organize Plan Drawings, Revisions, and As-Builts
  • Assist in maintaining all Project Logs
  • Assess, compare, and monitor quantities ordered with materials budgeted
  • Maintain the Notevault Diary and provide schedule updates to the Project Engineer
  • Initiate, drive, and control Field Operations Reports
  • Develop Look Ahead Schedules with the project superintendent
  • Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations including managers and employees
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Operating and Maintenance Instructions, Procedure Manuals, Contracts, Subcontracts, and Purchase Orders
  • Other unlisted duties will be assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar degree
  • 5-7 years of related work experience
  • Moderate to high level of proficiency operating Primavera 3 and 6
  • Moderate to high level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
  • Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and utilize Construction Math concepts
  • Valid driver license for occasional, required travel
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Our work is focused on energy sector projects and encompasses all phases of project lifecycle from concept development through decommissioning. This includes technical advisory and due diligence for projects during development and financing, construction monitoring, performance testing, periodic O&amp;M and operating budget reviews, decommissioning, expert witness, and restructuring activities. Personnel within the Technical Advisory practice have experience in numerous technologies including; PV solar, wind, concentrating solar power, biomass, waste-to-energy, biofuels, emerging process technologies, combined cycle and simple cycle plants, thermal technologies, distributed generation, storage, demand response and other energy related technologies.</p><p>Our Technical Advisory team works collaboratively with our Power and Gas Market team, Environment and Planning team, and the greater ICF to provide comprehensive advisory services including strategic, investment, and portfolio management, operational planning; market development; policy analysis; regulatory support; and customer engagement.</p><p>Consultants at ICF integrate industry experience and advanced consulting and analytical skills. As a Construction and Structural Engineer, you will utilize your experience in industrial construction, cost estimating, and/or development of civil and structural design packages to support our team with a proven track record of technical consulting, and engaging with client decision-makers at manager to senior executive levels.</p><p>Positions require at least 10 years of experience in one or more of the following industries:</p><ul><li><p>Renewable Generation including Wind, Solar, Energy Storage, Biofuels, and other Renewable Technologies</p></li><li><p>Thermal Power Generation including both Coal-fired and Gas-fired technologies</p></li><li><p>Bio-Fuel Engineering with an Emphasis on Production Facilities</p></li><li><p>Biomass and/or Waste-to-Energy Technologies</p></li><li><p>Transmission line engineering</p></li><li><p>Hydroelectric Generating Technologies</p></li><li><p>Engineering, Procurement and Construction of Power Generation Facilities</p></li></ul><p>With experience in the following areas:</p><ul><li><p>Fatal flaw reviews</p></li><li><p>Understanding of AACE cost estimating classification system and preparation of capital cost estimates, budgets and/or construction schedules</p></li><li><p>Understanding of scheduling and resource allocation principles and familiarity with MS Project, Primavera, or other scheduling tools used for EPC of energy projects.</p></li><li><p>Preparation of civil and structural design packages</p></li><li><p>Construction monitoring and construction supervision</p></li></ul><p>Consultants will work from home or our Golden, Colorado office location, and travel occasionally depending on engagements and needs.
