Huitt-Zollars' Denver, Colorado Office has a full-time opportunity for a Structural Engineer. The successful candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer with experience designing structural elements such as framing and foundation systems for buildings, retaining walls, minor bridges and culverts, and other misc. support structures for transportation-oriented projects. The candidate will work in a team environment on institutional, commercial, transportation, transit, and public works projects primarily in Denver with opportunities to work on projects for other offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Design engineering of vertical structures for commercial & institutional projects; transportation and transit systems, and public works projects

  • Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations

  • Develop structural details and construction plans using Revit

  • Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters other project staff

  • Work closely with Engineers and other disciplines to assure coordinated design systems

  • Review shop drawings, perform field observations, and facilitate the construction administration process

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's Degree preferred)

  • PE (Professional Engineer} required (SE, registered Structural Engineer, a plus)

  • 8+ years' experience in Structural Engineering including Construction Administration

  • Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design specifications and AASHTO Guide Specifications for LRFD Seismic Bridge design is desirable (could remove this entirely)

  • Understanding of International Building Code, ASCE 7, ASCE 61-14, ACI 318 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete, AISC Steel Construction Manual, AISC Seismic Design Manual and other material design codes

  • Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members

  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills

We offer a competitive benefit and compensation package including three medical plan options, dental, vision, life, long/short-term disability, and two retirement plans: 401(k) and ESOP.

Annual Base Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000 DOE. The expected salary range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed upon compensation is based on the success candidate's individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and consideration to participate in our discretionary annual bonus incentive program.
