Designs structural systems and components and other fabricated projects, ensuring that designs meet all applicable codes, regulations and good practice. Provides technical assistance to support sales and project management.
Handle all aspects of engineering work to design industrial structural systems and components for customers as needed; Industrial Structural Systems and Components may include but are not limited to structural supports for equipment within, outside of or attached to buildings, access platforms, stairways, equipment skids/frames, equipment lift structure, piping/duct supports and structures not similar to buildings (tanks, silo's and pressure vessels).
Work directly with drafters/designers in developing design and/or fabrication drawings, reviewing and approving drafting/design work.
Develop cost estimates and facilitate development of pricing and both formal and/or informal quotations/proposals for the fabrication of industrial structural systems and components and other projects.
Assist project managers by performing calculations, providing technical support, doing research and/or troubleshooting.
Oversee the design, fabrication and installation of projects to ensure that all applicable codes are followed, and specifications are met. Handle all changes and resolve problems related to assigned projects.
Directly communicate with customers in the form of quotations, meetings, and presentations to understand and define their needs. Understand and respond to customer requests, both verbal and written.
Act as a technical expert for the company for both internal and external customers with regard to industrial structural systems and components and related systems.
Establish and follow-through on a personal professional development plan including participation in industry related associations.
Fulfill overall responsibilities for Project Manager, Estimator, Drafter and/or Project Coordinator as/when requested.
Travel as required to support new project sales or current project execution
Support and maintain a Lean working environment.
Other duties as assigned.

Strong written and oral communication and coordinating skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize as needed.
Interest in fabrication and design and experience with metals fabrication and welding
BSSE (Bachelors of Structural Engineering) or equivalent.
Ability to understand and interpret AISC Steel Construction and ASCE codes as well as other codes as applicable (IBC & Local Building Codes etc).
Experience and capability in RISA-3D preferred
Knowledge and/or ability to quickly learn AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor and Revit
Physical ability to access job sites.
