Analyzes, researches, develops structural engineering solutions and substantiations involving metals, non-metallic or composite materials for Rotor System design. Position involves mechanical system structural design analysis related to new product development and legacy aircraft structural evaluations.
Frequent opportunity to interface with manufacturing engineering, provide structural support for laboratory fatigue testing and flight test operations, as well as continued support of fielded production aircraft. Some interface with hydraulic, electrical, transmission, power plant, and armament where required. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability, thermal analysis, but primarily Static and Fatigue stress analysis of rotating Rotor dynamic components, including life calculations, as well as required structural analysis report documentation. Tools utilized may include CATIA, ANSYS, Power Point, and MS Word, as well as a variety of specialized software applications.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an accredited college.
