Akkodis is seeking a Structural Engineer for a role that is situated within the Advanced Technologies division for out client, focusing on structural analysis to assess durability, stiffness, and strength. The primary duties involve collaborating closely with engineering teams, conducting in-depth analyses of engineering designs, predicting their viability, and offering recommendations. Additionally, this position entails active involvement in internal collaborative initiatives, providing expert technical guidance.

Job Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive analysis of components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and complete vehicles utilizing FEA tools (e.g., ABAQUS, LSDYNA) and fatigue life calculation tools (such as n-code, FE-safe), and ensuring model validation through test correlations.

  • Oversee projects by receiving requests, devising plans, and executing according to department protocols, including the drafting of reports.

  • Collaborate closely with project requestors to engineer durable components and assemblies.

  • Liaise with various Technical Center departments to procure necessary data for projects.

  • Drive the development and enhancement of departmental analysis procedures and processes by refining methodologies and improving capabilities.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Possess 3+ years of experience in Implicit (static and dynamic analysis) and explicit analysis.

  • Proficient in pre- and post-processors (e.g., Hypermesh, ANSA), FEA software (ABAQUS, LSDYNA), and fatigue life calculators (n-code, FE-safe).

  • Strong grasp of fatigue theory.

  • Demonstrated project management capabilities.

  • Excellent documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven self-motivation for tackling challenges and fostering innovation.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Interest or experience in multi-body dynamics and vehicle dynamics.

  • Familiarity with explicit analysis such as crash or drop simulations.

  • Proficiency in scripting, preferably with Python.

  • Experience with CAD software, particularly PTC Creo.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required. An M.Sc. or Ph.D. is preferred.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $55.00 per hour
