Reporting to the Medical-Surgical Service Line Director, the Stroke Nurse Manager will be accountable for the medical-surgical unit dedicated to a neurology, trauma, orthopedic population.
Responsibilities of the Stroke Nurse Manager include overseeing day-to-day operations, updating policy procedures, ensuring state and regulatory compliance, and department staffing which includes scheduling, payroll, disciplinary action, evaluations, and assisting with the hiring process. Additionally, the Stroke Nurse Manager partners with the nurse educators to provide exceptional educational programs offered to new hires and current department staff. The Stroke Nurse Manager should have a clinical background working in a medical-surgical, neurology, or orthopedic unit with prior leadership experience.
Additionally, the Stroke Nurse Manager should hold an active RN license and ideally hold their BSN.
