The Stroke Coordinator utilizes clinical expertise and is responsible for the maintenance of the Cooley Dickinson Hospital Stroke Program. This includes, but is not limited to, oversight of data collection, analysis, monitoring, evaluation, and submission of data to all external agencies as required. The Stroke Coordinator is responsible for making mandatory stroke education accessible to all hospital staff, physicians, clinical nursing and others, as needed and actively participates in community events to improve the awareness of stroke signs and symptoms while encouraging early intervention for stroke symptoms.
The Stroke Coordinator serves as the co-chairperson of the Multi-Disciplinary Stroke Steering Committee, with assistance from the Unit-Based Quality Nurse and the Stroke Medical Director, and is responsible and accountable for assuring the ongoing compliance with the Mass DPH Stroke licensing requirements including policy & procedure development, tracking of stroke data, and attending DPH meetings as necessary.
This position reports to the Medical Director, Emergency Services and the Nursing Director, Emergency Department and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Massachusetts EMT-P certificate or MA Licensure as a Registered Nurse required; if licensed as an RN, this position falls under the Massachusetts Nurses Association bargaining unit
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Massachusetts certified EMT-P or Registered Nurse with at least six months of administrative and quality assurance experience required
Evidence of performance as a professional role model and a leader required
Master's degree in business management preferred
Current American Heart Association BLS required
