Reports To: Director of Strength and Conditioning / Director of Intercollegiate Athletics

POSITION SUMMARY

The University of Sioux Falls Athletic program seeks a qualified individual to serve as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning to help in all phases of a successful athletic program. The position is a full-time, 12-month exempt position. USF is a member of NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities include providing strength and conditioning services for student-athletes participating in USF athletics. Working with the Director of Strength and Conditioning on developing and implementing comprehensive in-season and off-season strength and conditioning programs, designing advanced training of student-athletes in sport-specific performance-enhancing workouts, and providing educational resources on nutrition and position-appropriate duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree required (in related field) and at least two years (graduate assistant and internship experience applies) of direct Strength & Conditioning experience in intercollegiate athletics

• Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent certification

• CPR Certification

• Commitment to the Christian mission of the University

• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

• Detail-oriented; strong organizational skills; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; self-motivated

• Ability to work well with a diverse group of people and as a part of a team

• Weekend and evening work necessary for success in the position

• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds; ability to sit at a work-station and stand, walk, and demonstrate throughout the course of the work time

• Ability to successfully pass a required background check

• Proficient with desktop computer, Microsoft Office Suite, Windows XP, and other software as needed for the position

• Travel is necessary with a valid driver's license required
