Five Keys is a nonprofit organization that operates an extensive network of programs across California. With a presence in 14 counties and over 120 locations, Five Keys focuses on various initiatives aimed at empowering individuals and families to overcome poverty and inequity. Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY
The Clean Ambassador position reports to the Downtown Street Clean Supervisor and is accountable for cleaning services, including litter removal, pressure washing, and graffiti reporting in the Downtown Skid Row area.
We are looking for someone who insists on maintaining a positive attitude and enjoys supporting a diverse group of people. If this job is for you, and you are aimed at maintaining safe, clean, and accessible sidewalks and right-of-ways within designated service areas.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs litter removing services throughout the teams area of operation, including the removal of controlled sharp items and other dangerous items from sidewalks, gutters, tree wells, and planters
Sweeps sidewalks and gutters and properly disposes of debris
Performs topping off services to remove debris from overflowing city maintained trash cans
Performs pressure washing of streets, sidewalks, and other structures as needed
Reports the location of graffiti and stickers on public infrastructure
Attends all safety inspections and staging meetings
Reports to work dressed as to appropriately protect oneself from exposure to usual and/or predicable physical and environmental conditions found in the workplace
Always uses provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided while working
Remains properly hydrated throughout the day
Uses care when operating or maintaining program equipment and resources
Performs other program related tasks and duties as needed or requested
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
While previous experience is not required for this position, a strong candidate will have experience working outdoors in one or more of the following areas: Landscaping, street cleaning efforts
Lived experience as previously incarcerated or homeless is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
To promote the health and safety of its employees, those we serve and our local communities, Five Keys requires that all employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and/or adhere to all weekly testing and safety measures. Must wear provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements, when needed
Frequent talking and hearing conversations
Long periods of walking, sitting at a desk and/or computer station
Lifting items that weigh up to 50 lbs.; reaching, bending, carrying and stooping within the daily routine of tasks and activities
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Moderate to high noise level, including noise caused by the use of tools and machinery
Work environment varies from site to site
Some personal safety risk working in underserved communities
Outdoor conditions which weather variations from cold weather, including rain, hail, etc., and hot conditions when temperatures may be in excess of 100 degrees
Operation of pressure washer and other cleaning equipment and use of shovels, brooms and other tools required
