Join us as the Strategy Manager-Sponsorships & Events, Innovation Economy, Vice President - where you will have the opportunity to support the firm's Innovation Economy team in the Commercial Bank by driving strategy to help manage complex events and strategic partnerships, maximizing business value for all involved.

As a Strategy Manager-Sponsorships & Events, Innovation Economy, Vice President within the Commercial Bank, you will have the opportunity to support the firm's Innovation Economy team by promoting strategy to manage complex events and strategic partnerships. You will work closely with teams across business groups to guide the development and execution of strategic sponsorships and event marketing programs, focusing on delivering meaningful brand awareness and strategic client/prospect engagement. This role offers the chance to execute multiple, concurrent sponsorships and events that enhance business growth.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver an event/sponsorship programs innovation economy organization aligned to business initiatives designed to enhance awareness of the Commercial Bank's capabilities and deliver meaningful interactions with clients and prospects. Provide guidance and execution support to senior management and stakeholders on events and sponsorships. Partner closely with colleagues across multiple lines of business to coordinate shared opportunities.

  • Lead thoughtful agendas for event activations and negotiate custom third-party sponsorship contracts with trade associations, industry conferences, accelerators and incubators. Partner closely with marketing, social media/digital and communications teams to enhance internal and external awareness of programming, broadening the reach of events/sponsorships. Lead consistency in holistic 'Innovation Economy' messaging across all programs. Partner closely with legal and compliance to secure contract approval; overseeing sponsorship / event vendor relationships, maintaining contacts at venues and negotiating new opportunities based on past learnings.

  • Lead pre-event/sponsorship responsibilities, including host planning committees; build/manage detailed project plans; run point on event host/banker and speaker briefing templates; and liaise with design team to devise and plan event collateral. Lead post-event/sponsorship responsibilities, including: hosting debrief calls with partner organizations and the business + analyze programs for effectiveness/ROI in partnership with the business and marketing centers of excellence (digital, communications, etc.).

  • Manage and track detailed budgets with ongoing monitoring and reporting. For each program, work closely with production partners to manage budgets; secure and document required approvals; track spend and document variances; and ensure invoices are processed.

  • Track and outline key performance indicators and build scorecards for priority programs; track and report regularly on the effectiveness of executed plans. Make recommendations for future based on learning.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • 8+ years work in marketing/communications, events or sponsorships. Requires travel (25% of time) and off-hours projects.

  • Excellent project management and time management skills; proven ability to partner and lead a range of stakeholders across functions and levels.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated track record of thriving in fast-paced, matrixed environment with minimal supervision. Team player that is self-motivated, entrepreneurial, effective under pressure and flexible (able to adapt to changing priorities). Excellent relationship management skills - ability to influence and interact with senior executives and business leaders.

  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal required, including the ability to translate data-driven insights and measurement into actionable next steps.

  • Strong desire to creatively problem-solve; proven ability to navigate/analyze complex data.

  • Proven ability to operate with a sense of personal accountability; strong work ethic; high level of professionalism and integrity.

  • Excellent/advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Financial service/Commercial banking or management consulting experience preferred; working in a large global organization

  • Experience managing event and sponsorships for founders, investors, startups and high-growth companies

  • Marketing, Brand, Sales Support, Communications, Pubic Relations experience

  • Track record of driving innovation by challenging convention and identifying opportunities to develop unique, competitive sales and events/sponsorship programs
