PepsiCo Foodservice is a division of PepsiCo that brings the company's entire portfolio of food and beverage brands to market in out-of-home consumption channels. The foodservice operating environment is complex and highly dynamic, requiring diverse sales and go-to-market systems in order to meet consumer needs at work, at play, and on the go. The Strategy Manager will develop and maintain a thorough understanding of PepsiCo Foodservice's evolving customer and consumer equipment needs with an understanding of competitive landscapes; the goal is to be industry leader through innovation across key equipment platforms Fountain, Vending, Cooler and emerging digital platforms. Further, the Strategy Manager will help define the road-map for the exploration of emerging technologies as a way to capitalize on potentially unmet market needs. In this capacity he or she will work with key internal stakeholders to define and prioritize areas for analysis, generate insights based on findings, and leverage them to help develop and drive implementation of a robust equipment innovation pipeline.

Equipment Team Mission: Build an advantaged, industry leading innovation pipeline driven by consumer insights to drive growth and position PepsiCo at the forefront of consumer and technology trends

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to scope, plan, and execute research on customer, consumer, and competitive equipment platforms

  • Lead 'Equipment council' process to align cross-functionally and establish equipment innovation priorities.

  • Inform and support development of holistic equipment strategy centered on insights gathered

  • Assist budget allocation towards key equipment innovation priorities in partnership with finance

  • Identify opportunities to meet adjacent customer and consumer need states through the use of emerging technologies

  • Collaborate with key internal teams to balance external needs with the internal operating environment across procurement, production, and Go-to-Market teams

  • Support strategic and annual planning processes on equipment innovation and capital allocation

  • Create cohesive, compelling, and fact-based presentations

  • Build robust and accurate analytical models

Qualifications/Requirements

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA or other post-graduate degree preferred

Work Experience:

  • 4+ years in a strategy or insights role with a major consulting firm or corporate strategy function; ideally 1-2 years' experience post completion of advanced degree (if applicable)

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Superior analytical skills; ability to generate insights from disparate data sources and translate them into a cohesive strategic framework

  • Superior modeling skills; ability to develop highly complicated quantitative analyses in a defect-free manner

  • Strong executive presence; must be able to command respect of cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Mastery in creating PowerPoint presentations, storylines, and executive summaries for external and internal stakeholders

  • Strong communication skills; must be able to operate in a matrix environment

  • Strong planning/organizing skills; capable of managing major projects simultaneously

  • Advance use of MS Office Suite, notably Excel and PowerPoint

  • Comfort in managing through uncertainty and ambiguity

  • Ability to achieve deadlines consistently
