Control & Governance Lead

The Control & Governance Lead's main function is to drive business value by identifying, testing, implementing and resolving business line issues across the Collection, Bank Operations, and Bureau Disputes business that will optimize controls and/or reduce risk & improve the customer experience.
What will you be doing?
Manage daily reporting of Incident Management items and Risk events across multiple lines of business.
Responsible for the development and delivery issue fixes and driving cross functional teams to implement solutions to identified issues.
Maintain and improve the departmental RCSA documentation including delivery of testing against risks
Lead contact for BIA, ICA, M&T, and Regulatory auditing across multiple lines of business.
Enhance the future control environment of the Collections/bank operations, and CBD network through the formulation of leading edge, innovative, digital approaches through proactive networking across Barclaycard, Barclays and the external industry
Provide deep understanding of supplier management and outsourcing process and experience in auditing suppliers
What we're looking for:
Minimum 10 years of managing, coaching and developing staff in a service operation, including hiring, training, developing policies, procedures and technological infrastructure.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Financial, Banking or Credit Institution.
Skills that will help you in the role:
Graduate degree preferred
Ability to set objectives to engage colleagues and inspire performance and lead others to maintain a controlled environment and identify risk.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills present information and concepts specific to issues and Risk Events for consideration by Senior Management.
Proven people management skills and team leadership and performance management skills across multiple lines of business.
Demonstrated success at developing and managing an effective organization that meets service standards and financial targets.
A proactive leader and self-starter who naturally assumes ownership of initiatives and adopts a committed 'Hands on approach' to resolving issues and progressing deliverables.
Extensive experience in the credit industry, with time spent in a collections and Back Office related role (ideally within financial services) with experience in improving the control framework through identification of risks.
Ability to manage a very broad and changing agenda in a highly productive fashion.
