We are currently seeking a Strategy Director to lead a medium to large B2B account and a tech startup. This candidate will be responsible for the management of a Senior Digital Strategist, and the development of audience insights, brand vision, content strategy, and measurement planning. They will have an eye for breakthrough work and strive tolead clients to creative work that is both effective and famous.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manages client relationships and proactively develops future campaign initiatives/thinking.
Shepherds development of creative briefs based on insights from consumer research, brand understanding, and marketplace data.
Collaborates with Creatives and doesn't view the brief as the end of the conversation, but as the beginning of an ongoing and iterative concepting process.
Leads client, agency partners, and others in development of a master plan that results in an integrated and successful campaign.
Synthesizes technical information into more digestible and accessible ideas that inspire more relatable creative solutions.
Develops creatively inspiring briefs and propositions to drive clarity in the quality of creative work in the group.
Inspires internal teams, clients, and external teams in how strategic communications can be used to bring ideas to life, ensuring that the creative team have a sophisticated understanding of how the product works and how we can highlight unique benefits or strengths.
Analyze short and medium-term goals and determine team objectives and identify the necessary critical tasks to achieve these objectives.
Is seen as the Strategy Champion for training and development and facilitates organizational learning when it comes to planning tools and practices, as well as, promoting knowledge and sharing.
Engenders respect and builds effective relationships with business partners at the appropriate levels.
Leads strategic and creative development across two newly won accounts (1) an up-and-coming tech startup looking to save lives/make the world better (for real!) and (2) an established b2b player looking to reinvent the enterprise space.
Partners with agency leadership in evolving DDB San Francisco's strategy practice. Helping write the next chapter for an office with a new leadership team, a growing client roster, and an upward path of trajectory.
Participates and even co-leads new business pitches, with Head of Strategy.
7-9+ years of experience as strategist or equivalent
Experience across business verticals including consumer & enterprise technology (SaaS, infrastructure, cloud, AI, machine learning, IoT, smart home, etc.), telecom, consumer goods & services, insurance, travel & hospitality, beer & spirits a plus!
Has a level of professional knowledge and capability necessary to do the job, has motivation to continue learning and sharing knowledge.
Demonstrated examples of implementation of key consumer insights into the formulation of big ideas and communications strategy, across all disciplines.
Risk taker who is open to change and has a knack for developing unconventional ideas, original opinions and insights.
Able to build effective relationships with colleagues, clients and suppliers. Team player. Listens and shows respect for other points of view.
Passionate about advertising. Inspires and influences others, has negotiating skills, team leadership, courage, accessibility and integrity.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Organized individual who can prioritize, meet deadlines, improve processes, be a guardian of the bottom line, and manage time effectively.
Thorough knowledge of the principles of advertising, integrated marketing and media. A basic knowledge of disciplines underlying these principles, i.e., psychology, economics, analytics.
