Our Corporate Development and Strategy team is at the heart of Dell. It deals with a wide range of initiatives including new business opportunities, mergers & acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and joint ventures. Providing leadership in design, planning and due diligence, they lead the corporate development of our global business to help achieve our long-term growth objectives. They also keep us ahead of the curve by analyzing trends and developments in markets and technology before translating them into strategic operational plans.
Covering a focused set of markets or lines of business to identify key trends
Identifying new market and business model opportunities
Detecting competitive threats and market shifts
Benchmarking competitor business models / strategies
Developing ongoing analytics and market research for covered markets
Conducting ad hoc deep dives to understand root cause of issues
Developing fact bases and materials to facilitate strategic planning and "war gaming"
Collaborating with internal and external consulting teams on transformation projections
Collaborating with LOB/function strategy, sales, marketing, and product teams to address issues identified
Mentoring more junior members of the team
8+ years of experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in business or other quantitative discipline; MBA preferred
Very strong understanding of business strategies and drivers
Demonstrated skills in fact-based analysis, presentation, and interpersonal interaction
Deep understanding of current technology trends and markets
Expert problem solving and quantitative analytical skills
Flexibility to quickly adapt to new challenges
