Our Corporate Development and Strategy team is at the heart of Dell. It deals with a wide range of initiatives including new business opportunities, mergers & acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and joint ventures. Providing leadership in design, planning and due diligence, they lead the corporate development of our global business to help achieve our long-term growth objectives. They also keep us ahead of the curve by analyzing trends and developments in markets and technology before translating them into strategic operational plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Covering a focused set of markets or lines of business to identify key trends

  • Identifying new market and business model opportunities

  • Detecting competitive threats and market shifts

  • Benchmarking competitor business models / strategies

  • Developing ongoing analytics and market research for covered markets

  • Conducting ad hoc deep dives to understand root cause of issues

  • Developing fact bases and materials to facilitate strategic planning and "war gaming"

  • Collaborating with internal and external consulting teams on transformation projections

  • Collaborating with LOB/function strategy, sales, marketing, and product teams to address issues identified

  • Mentoring more junior members of the team

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in business or other quantitative discipline; MBA preferred

  • Very strong understanding of business strategies and drivers

  • Demonstrated skills in fact-based analysis, presentation, and interpersonal interaction

  • Deep understanding of current technology trends and markets

  • Expert problem solving and quantitative analytical skills

  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to new challenges

Desirable Requirements

  • Top tier consulting experience or investment banking experience (or work in a comparable corporate strategy group or market analysis team)

Work You'll Do As a Strategy & Operations Summer Scholar, you'll be assigned to a client project and will collaborate with team members to help dynamic organizations tackle their complex problems and drive tangible results.
