Job Purpose
Developing and executing product and business strategy in a world of rapid technological and social change requires a highly capable, highly knowledgeable, and highly engaged team. Sustainability & Business Development Business Unit is tasked with navigating the path for Honda's future Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric, and Energy products, services, and businesses with a focus on environmental sustainability. The team will focus on building and sustaining Honda's core brand values and enhancing brand image and competitiveness in the marketplace by innovating, incubating, selecting, developing, applying, and operating new businesses, features, products, and services with responsibility for their profitability, competitiveness, and customer satisfaction for Honda in North America.
The Partnership Project Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Honda by nurturing key partnerships and alliances. This role is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and managing partnerships that align with Honda's 2050 "Triple Action to Zero" approach to environmental impact including achieving carbon neutrality for all products and corporate activities and 100% utilization of renewable energy. The role involves cross-functional collaboration across multiple departments within the Sustainability & Business Development Business Unit and with external functions such as Finance, Legal, and R&D. The Partnership & Alliance department objective is to drive business growth, innovation and value creation to provide our customers the best experience through Charging Solutions, SmartCharge, V1G, V2X, HEMS (Home Energy Management System), Hydrogen & Sustainability Solutions programs.
Focusing on new revenue opportunities, future energy, EV and sustainability business, as well as synergies supporting the operation and providing new value to the Customer and the collective value chain, the associate leads and supports tasked plans, executes, and reports on all planning and aspects of the partnerships and alliances business. Executing on responsibility is a mandatory requirement to adhere to AHM's compliance requirements and manage the sustainability of the businesses. This requires frequent coordination and review of wide-ranging information, along with regular communication with multiple stakeholders including external business partners, HM, Product Planning, Service, Quality, Sales, Finance, HNA Law, and other pertinent business units.
Key Accountabilities
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
BA/BS in business, economics, marketing, finance or equivalent work experience. MBA is a plus
Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, partnerships or finance. Proven track record in partnership management or business development, preferrably within the automotive industry.
Experience with developing partnership channels, working cross functionaly with legal, finance, marketing. Knowledge in energy management related to v2x, v1g, hydrogen, battery life cycle or related to electric vehicles and/or sustainbility areas is preferred
5 years of experience leading a project team
Experience with complex project development
Strong negotiations and contract management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Capable of drafting and reviewing complex contracts, agreements, and detailed SOWs (Scope of Work)
Excellent planning, negotiating, analytical, and presentation skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on market trends
Exceptional project management skills
Basic understanding of business model development required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of the automotive industry and emerging technologies is a plus
Technical orientation and understanding is preferred.
Knowledge of honda operations - planning, r&d, manufacturing, sales, quality, service, and customer support is preferred
Pc proficiency with ms office (powerpoint, excel, word)
Function in an Agile project team as a Product Owner / LPL, Scrum Master / ALPL, or Person-In-Charge of a Functional Area for a project.
Workstyle
20% Remote; 3-4 days in office
10% Travel
Work is 30% desk work using laptop and phone, including conference calls, communicating, reading and responding to emails, reading contracts, etc.; 35% meetings and 20% preparing and reporting to management.
