FiveStone Strategists are problem-solvers who work closely with our multidisciplinary team to elevate our clients’ missions and deliver effective strategies. Our strategists serve a wide range of human-centered design projects including, creative communications/campaigns, consumer research and insights, brand identity creation, and digital marketing.

We ask great questions, look for insights, get to know our end-users, craft solutions, guide implementation, and gather feedback along the way.

  • 4+ years of experience as a strategist, or a similar role, at a creative/design, brand strategy, or insights-focused agency
  • Create and implement strategies for digital marketing projects
  • Connect the dots from objectives to insights to ideas
  • Strong understanding of cultural and market trends to uncover unique opportunities
  • Working knowledge of current and emerging social / technology platforms
  • Adept in implementation of content strategy from a user-oriented perspective
  • Fluent in quantitative and qualitative market research methods to identify drivers and barriers, and a solid understanding of how those insights apply to client challenges
  • Familiar with the creative design process
  • Excellent communication skills and storytelling abilities (across mediums), with the ability to translate user insights and strategic thinking into a compelling narrative
  • Creative, innovative, and curious. Eager to cultivate thought leadership and continue learning with us
  • Entrepreneurial spirit that pushes you to roll-up your sleeves and get things done and to finish what you start
  • Self-motivated, carrying an ease of operating in ambiguity or with little direction.

Travel is variable, up to 25%.

We are a distributed team across New York City and Boulder, CO. This position could be based in either location.

A Day in the Life The US Market Strategy team is focused on developing and maintaining a deep understanding of our customers, the evolving world they live in and the patients they care for – creating the insight we need to make more informed business decisions. While experience within these areas of care is a plus, it is not required. Key Responsibilities: * Develop a situation analysis of the NICU/PICU market consisting but not limited to: * Market growth rates and share, key internal and external dynamics, competitive landscape, customer profiles, risks and opportunities * Effectively communicate across the organization the strategic plan and tactics to drive growth in the NICU/PICU * Develop, validate and communicate the value propositions that will position our business objectives within the NICU/PICU * Analyze our current business model and create a future business model based on your analysis of the market, our customers—and in turn, their patients, and our organization * Partner with leaders across the business (e.g. sales, global, clinical, industry, services or channel management) to design an aligned set of strategies, tactics and resources that achieve business objectives * Provide insight and support to company leadership that informs the identification and development of new offerings (products, solutions or services) * Lead US launch planning for new offerings, which includes guiding a cross functional process and ensuring successful commercialization Skills: * Ability to gather, as well as translate, quantitative and qualitative data into actionable recommendations * Ability to listen and interpret needs of the customer, market and business * Critical thinking and capacity for original thought * Ability to navigate and organize across a cross functional team to establish buy-in and support to achieve business plans * Strong written and verbal communication skills Behaviors: * Constantly curious * Customer obsessed * Highly collaborative, able to work in a matrixed environment * Leads without authority * Detail oriented, well organized, efficient with time management * Strong business acumen Must Have: Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business or marketing * A minimum of 2 years of experience (e.g. market strategy, customer success, clinical experience, portfolio marketing) Nice to Have * Project management experience * Medical device experience desirable About Medtronic Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
