We are presently searching for a Strategist in our Chicago office. The Strategist, working under the direction of a senior member of the team, is responsible for gathering statistical data and analyzing the balance of people, place and process in the workplace for the purpose of developing solutions to assist clients in achieving their workplace goals as a direct service and within the integrated context of a project design team.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Engage with clients to gather data and performs research and strategic analysis of factors that affect the workplace (i.e. employee work patterns, communication, process integration, organizational culture, workplace effectiveness).

  • Synthesizes information into proposed solutions and recommendations; provides detailed data and findings that support the proposed solutions.

  • Works with clients as well as design and technical staff to develop solutions for clients short and long-term workplace goals.

  • Continuously reviews and conducts on-going research on workplace strategies. May write papers on strategies topics or make public presentations.

  • Creates project deliverables in line with scope of work.

  • Manages own workload and may also coordinate with others for project support.

  • Makes presentations and interacts with clients on a regular basis.

  • May write portions of proposals and attend client interviews.

  • Engage in initiatives to enhance practice tools and resources.


  • Graduate of architecture or design school or business: equivalent experience may be substituted
  • 5+ years' experience in corporate interior design projects or equivalent, 2+ years' in strategy consulting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of design principles and strategies.

  • Intermediate documentation and field observation skills.

  • Reasonable understanding of relationship between design and value to business.

  • Strong presentation, written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.

  • Intermediate MS Office Suite skills

  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills

  • Manage and lead junior staff through a combination of direct authority and subject matter expertise

Working Conditions:

All levels of Strategies staff have the same working conditions. For the majority of the time all staff will be working in an office with limited physical requirements. On occasion individuals will be required to visit a client site. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist and reach. The position is not subject to occupational and safety risks.

You increase PCG holistic planning focused on estate and high-net worth client business by working with the Financial Advisors (FAs) to leverage their time, talents and resources in gathering and maintaining assets of high net worth clients. Through the RBC planning process, you provide expert product knowledge and consultation in addition to serving as the primary external sales for segment specific speciality products and services. You work closely with field leadership, service and support areas within Private Client Group to ensure a collaborative support effort and exceptional client experience. Additionally you serve as a resource for Financial Advisors with issues affecting ultra and high net worth clients, such as: complex financial, estate, gift and charitable planning, personal trust planning, business succession planning, multi-generational planning and strategies for dealing with concentrated equity positions and employee stock options. Your consulting services could range from conference calls or personal meetings with Financial Advisors, individual clients and their families, and the client's outside legal and tax advisors. Also, you serve as a subject matter expert developing educational content and conducting client seminars and training sessions for Financial Advisors, other RBC Wealth Management employees, media and outside centers of influence, such as attorneys and Certified Public Accountants. What will you do? * Generate or coordinate creation of proposals focusing on client's wealth transfer goals and objectives, including estate, charitable and business succession planning solutions, help recruit advisors and close business. * Develop and promote sales ideas and effective business practices, work with advisors to identify opportunities and capture money in motion. * Deliver the RBC planning client experience to clients with significant wealth and complex needs. * Consult with advisor on complex planning cases, provides estate, insurance and succession planning and trust reviews. * Conduct "point of sale" presentations with advisors to help drive holistic wealth planning and solutions, coordinate other support as needed. * Assist, train and motivate FAs on key financial planning concepts and product solutions to gather assets of high net worth clients. * Proactively identify short and long-term business-building activities for individual FAs and teams. * Conduct targeted training and development programs. What do you need to succeed? Must-have * Bachelor's degree in business or related field, advance degree preferred * 10+ years Financial Services industry experience * 10+ years of in-depth expertise in estate or planning products * Securities industry licenses 7 and 66 (or 7, 63 and 65) * Experience with design and implementation of training programs Nice-to-have * JD and/or CPA * MBA * CFP, CLU and/or ChFC designation * Insurance Advanced Marketing experience What's in it for you?
