What you'll be doing

The Strategic Sales Consultant is the Tableau Jedi, playing the role of strategic advisor to internal and external customers. You'll be the go-to resource when all other options have been exhausted, working with account teams in closing deals with our most strategic customers by providing technical, selling and positioning expertise. You'll also contribute to enablement efforts focused on keeping the Presales team current on the ever evolving technology landscape.

Some of the things you'll be doing include

  • Become an expert in the features, benefits and application of the Tableau Analytics Platform

  • Become a trusted partner to the Presales and Account teams.

  • Provide presales support for all sales activities including needs analysis, data review, product demonstrations and other general sales support.

  • Solve technical problems, propose solution architectures and guide evaluations toward best practices.

  • Evangelize and socialize Tableau solutions and successes with executives and business owners.

  • Communicate via phone, email, face-to-face and web meetings with prospects assisting and guiding them through the evaluation, selection and adoption process.

  • Be the customer advocate and liaison for product management and development.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Who you are

  • Experienced. At least 5 years' experience in a Sales Engineer/ Pre-Sales role

  • Technically Savvy. Experience using web services: Redshift, S3, Spark, DigitalOcean, etc.

  • experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, Adwords, Crimson Hexagon, Facebook Insights, etc. Coding experience with several languages: Java, JavaScript, Scala, MLLib, etc.
  • Excellent Communication. Strong presentation skills to both business and technical audiences presenting at the CXO level + ability to translate knowledge across diverse industries and situations.

  • Problem Solver. You love tackling the most difficult of challenges and know how to get to the best solution.

  • Amazing Salesperson. Understanding of software deal dynamics (solution selling and other enterprise selling skills)and ability to think strategically about driving software opportunities forward; strong selling skills. Strong discovery and probing skills to learn business pain, identify opportunities and build credibility with customers
