PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Provide ongoing coaching support to pre-service teachers within the BRACE program which will elevate their instructional capacity to ensure a quality learning experience for students; provide instructional support to assist
BRACE, US Prep, and alt certified teachers with developing skills in the preparation of effective lesson planning, presentation of content, selection of appropriate and engaging resources, and classroom management; provide observation and feedback that will support teacher performance in conjunction with instructional coaches; support ongoing data reviews with defined action steps; regularly review student data to determine efficacy of classroom instruction; track alt certified and emergency certified personnel to determine progression in earning certification

Education/Certification/Experience:

Master's Degree in an appropriate field preferred
Valid Texas Teaching Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Thorough demonstrated knowledge of effectively coaching/supporting
Ability to model effective instruction across grade bands and content areas
Ability to build and leverage strong relationships with other team members in ways that motivate and inspire them
Ability to evaluate and recognize high quality teaching strategies
Ability to manage scheduling
Ability to coordinate district trainings
Ability to present effective and engaging staff development
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to interpret data
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

Experience:
Three years experience as a successful classroom teacher
Coaching or mentoring experience with demonstrated increases in student achievement and teacher effectiveness
Experience in instructional leadership roles preferred (e.g., AP, Instructional Coach, etc.)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Coordinate and Secure Professional Development Opportunities
Facilitate and/or deliver quality and targeted training for new and adjunct teachers
Facilitate and/or deliver quality and targeted training for Instructional Coaches, including Reading and Math coaches
Work with instructional leaders to examine teacher effectiveness and develop individual coaching plans in collaboration with campus instructional coaches
Plan the necessary time, resources, and materials to support new and adjunct teachers on campuses
Provide ongoing observation and feedback to new and adjunct teachers to help improve their abilities
Provide ongoing observation and feedback to campus instructional coaches to help improve their abilities to positively impact teachers
Align talent development processes, routines, systems, and structures school-wide to maximize student learning
Participate in the district-level decision-making process to establish and review the district's goals and objectives and major classroom instructional programs of the district.
Actively support the efforts of others to achieve district goals, objectives, and campus performance objectives
Obtain and apply evaluative data (including student achievement data) to examine effectiveness
Secure consultants, specialists, and other community resources with adherence to the district's business and finance regulations
Compile, maintain, and present all reports, records, and other documents required
Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible and serve as a role model for all district staff
Actively seek training and information, which will enhance skills and knowledge, related to responsibilities.
Maintain records of observation/feedback visits, along with follow up, and professional development attendance (sign in sheets, Eduphoria attendance records) for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines

Mentoring and Coaching

Support the growth of instructional coaches, new teachers, and adjunct teachers through ongoing training and coaching.
Assist with further development and evaluation of the coaching program.
Develop training and support for new and adjunct teachers that is focused on reflective practices, improving instruction, and increasing learner achievement.
Work in conjunction with campus coaches to provide support to new and adjunct teachers.

Professional Growth Expectations

Remain current in best practices in adult learning as well as topics that will be central to the development and delivery of training including curriculum, instruction, assessment, classroom management, technology integration, social-emotional learning, and other areas impacting teacher and student success.
Remain current on and comply with policies established by federal and state law, the State Board of Education, Texas Education Agency, and local board policy.
Become proficient in using the district professional learning hub to manage all learning events and opportunities.
Utilize research skills to assist in the continuous improvement of innovative practices in teaching and learning.
Participate in activities that promote district and community relations.
Serve on various advisory committees and planning teams.

Communication and Collaboration

Provide resources and materials in support of the diverse learning goals of staff.
Provide ongoing communication regarding professional learning and other district-level initiatives, especially the various strategic staffing projects
Assist in keeping the online professional learning hub current and robust with an emphasis on new and adjunct teachers
Work with new and adjunct teachers to achieve success and accomplish goals

.Policy Implementation
Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers and administrators
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required
Attend and participate in department meetings and serve on staff committees, as requested

The State Board for Educator Certification will require all first time applicants for an initial credential to be fingerprinted as part of a national criminal background check. A cost of up to $49. 00 will be charged for fingerprinting.
