Individual contributor who provides support and sourcing expertise to the global distribution, storage, and warehouse category. Individual contributor who:

  • Provides project management and sourcing expertise to cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity teams.

  • Facilitates these teams in the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize Medtronic's position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost.

  • Mitigates risk, leverages technology and purchase power, improves processes and systems, and reduces overall cost of ownership and acquisition.

  • Assists in development of negotiation strategies, establishes and monitors supplier agreements.

  • Assists in development and managing of strategic sourcing initiatives and commodity strategies.

  • Perform project based activities while adhering to policies.

  • Understand business cost reduction, growth initiatives, aggregating supplier volume, reducing pricing, and utilizing tools.

  • Work with (internal) stakeholders and develop market research for the various strategies.

  • Support regional sourcing base by communicating effectively across sourcing organizations, financial and legal groups to complete work assignments and to build partnerships in support of strategies for the assigned commodity area.

  • Communicate effectively with regional procurement and supply chain organizations, information technology, distribution, finance, quality, and legal to complete work assignments. Define methodologies and templates for others to be used. Help drive standardization in purchasing methodology.

  • Exchange information such as facts, statuses, ideas and issues to achieve objective.

  • Obtain global market condition information regarding categories and suppliers, to assist in the development of category strategies.

  • Benchmark with other companies to determine best overall practices for specific commodity areas.

  • Report performance to key metrics and project status as required.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • Global Supply Chain experience

  • Distribution and Logistics experience

  • Distribution of Med-Devices, Health Care or alternatively, high-tech

  • Experience negotiating contracts with 3PL's

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience

Nice to Have

  • Strong experience with Global RFPs, contracts, negotiations, sourcing agreements

  • Strong experience in distribution/warehouse and logistics

  • Experience with the Ariba Sourcing and RFP tool

  • Prior med device,

  • C.P.M.,CPSM, or CSCP Certification

  • Ability to perform in fast-paced environment

  • Ability to perform in virtual environment

  • Project management skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong Excel skills

Ensure contracting and procurement standards are maintained throughout the portfolio. Interface with the client and the account team to understand and clarify service delivery requirements, including contractual service levels, insurance requirements, response times and technical qualifications of key suppliers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Administrative * Administer and maintain contract files to ensure compliance with Jones Lang LaSalle and client requirements by managing supplier files, certificates of insurance, amendments, letters and other contractual documents * Manage databases, performs market and spend analytics, and model potential outcomes in order to develop professional solutions and recommendations and to drive cost savings and supply base efficiencies * Represent Sourcing to ensure contracts and procurement standards are maintained throughout the portfolio * Participate in the development of sourcing strategy, contract negotiation, and contract execution process as well as drive efficiency through continuous process improvement and creative cost savings initiatives * Support the Mergers & Acquisitions team with contract transfers adopted through M&A activity * Be proactive and seek continuous process improvement * Develop, implement and maintain a supplier diversity program in accordance with client and company requirements. Mentor/educate suppliers through meetings * Analyze supplier proposals, financial reports and other data to determine the reasonability of price and supplier's capabilities Compliance * Conduct local and regional Supplier Performance Review meetings, when requested, and manage supplier scorecards, contract compliance and service obligations. Relationship Coordination * Build transparency of Supplier spend and key risks related to our suppliers. Support reporting of results and opportunities * Provide management, detailed instruction and continuous follow-up to support the operations teams in standardized RFP/bid, contract processes, and sourcing initiatives.
