Position Summary

Strategic sourcing manager will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the supply chain operations of the business. This position will focus on sourcing, analyzing, and improving supplier relationships to achieve cost savings, process efficiencies, and value creation. Below are the key duties and qualifications for a strategic sourcing position:

Duties & Responsibilities

Cost Saving Project Management:

• Understands the sourcing implications to broader business and owns a component of productivity and DMI reporting.

• Leads cost-saving initiatives by negotiating favorable payment terms, pricing, etc.

• Drives process improvements to reduce costs and enhance supplier relationships while minimizing amount of inventory on hand.

Sourcing Strategies and Compliance:

• Develop, plan, and implement sourcing strategies which includes finding innovative solutions to create enhanced value and reduced risk in stockouts.

• Identify and implement optimal inventory management systems

• Ensure best value, price, compliance, and operational efficiencies when it makes sense to do so.

• Manage contractual flowdowns with suppliers which derive from customer requirements.

• Oversee contract negotiations and monitor contract implementation.

• Supplier base development: Identify and facilitate potential new supplier(s) to support new product/initiatives/processes development by staying informed of the industry's trends

• Communicate with and engineering regarding product lifecycle changes due to regulation changes or component obsolescence.

Supplier Management and Risk Mitigation:

• Manage supplier relationships, build trust, and address performance issues related to quality, delivery, and commitments.

• Implement risk management activities which includes but is not limited to identifying second sources for critical materials.

• Manage inbound and waste stream throughout facility

• Identify supplier's sustainability goals and report up to leadership to align with company's ESG goals.

Supplier Performance Monitoring :

• Track and report supplier performance, including cost savings and spend.

• Communicate with and engineering regarding product lifecycle changes due to regulation changes or component obsolescence.

• Work closely with quality team to perform vendor qualifications and audits

Spend Analysis and Cost Optimization :

• Identify, develop, and implement optimized cost source of supply for each commodity.

• Provide in-depth spend analysis, supplier assessments, and financial perspectives.

• Initiate requests for competitive bids.

Experience / Skills / Abilities

• Degree in business, supply chain management, engineering or equivalent.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment

• Travel required less than once a quarter

• Experience in working with ERP systems

• Prior supply chain or procurement experience

• Note: this position is based in Longmont, Colorado

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $83,500.00 - $125,300.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
