Job Description:

This position will reside in Toronto, Canada, and will be part of the Global Strategic Sourcing Services (GSSS) team. GSSS is the Indirect Procurement group within the McDonald's Global Supply Chain business. The person in this position will ensure: an assured supply of products to our restaurants while providing low cost best value to our System, the safety and quality of our products, support to the Franchisees and restaurants in achieving their goals and increasing cash flows, as well as supplier alignment with our corporate goals. Key stakeholders will include the Global Design and Development team (as well as market Restaurant Development teams), Senior Management on the Global and Canadian Supply Chain teams, Franchisees, Suppliers, Restaurant teams, and other MRCL departments.

Strategic Sourcing and Category Management

  • Executing and championing GSSS's 7-Step Strategic Sourcing process

  • Managing assigned categories and associated supplier relationships

  • Directing and assuring supply of indirect categories on a National and Global basis

  • Accountable for category Total Cost of Ownership

  • Ensures category contingency plans are in place and executed as required

  • Leads communications for category

  • Oversees and directs category risk management strategy execution

  • Emerging issues category lead and subject matter expert

  • Protects the Brand by ensuring the compliance of our products

  • Responsible for Canada Indirect savings target, and supporting global targets

  • Strategic global category support, delivering value to the market (savings, innovation, best practice, tools, etc)

Business and Supplier Relationships Management

  • Manages the development of suppliers to ensure they are positioned to grow with us

  • Supports and directs suppliers to achieve Competitive advantage goals

  • Validates supplier competitiveness through external benchmarking (Competitive Validation)

  • Recommends the approval and disapproval of suppliers as necessary

  • Establishes the performance and measurement systems for supplier efficiencies (PMR/SPI, Reward for performance, facilitates supplier business reviews)

  • Develops and implements suppliers' compensation programs & pricing protocols

  • Provides low cost, best value to our System through continuous improvement of our products and services, working with suppliers to ensure that capital is being appropriately allocated to provide the lowest cost of products available

  • Supports the Franchisees in achieving their goals including that of increased cash flow

  • Provides expertise and support to cross functional teams to help achieve Corporate goals

  • Ensures department goals are aligned with and support Corporate goals

  • Provides purchasing & quality expertise to customers as required

  • Liaison with various internal departments (QS, National Operations, Development, Menu and Marketing)

  • Respects and values the opinions of others

  • Demonstrates and reinforces the leadership behaviors and people practices necessary to gain commitment from Senior SCM Management, Franchisees, and suppliers.

MEMBER SERVICES TEAM MEMBER Job Summary Responsible for Executing Acquisition 365, renewing, upgrading, cross-selling My BJs Perks. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities * Drives and promotes the BJ's value proposition regarding acquisition, retention, perks, and the Member experience. * Converts potential members by actively and effectively pitching all membership programs in accordance with company policies and practices. * Exhibits clear understanding of all BJ's Membership options, and Co-Brand credit card. * Delivers superior customer service to Members by serving as a first line point-of-contact regarding membership, credit card applications, general questions, issues, merchandise returns, exchanges, product look up, and pick-ups. * Follows tax exempt/resale membership policies in regard to the retention processes and procedures,including monitoring membership renewals and tax-exempt/resale status. * Resolves Member concerns in a courteous and timely manner. Escalates issues to MSS and MOD when necessary. * Processes BOPIC (Buy Online and Pick Up In Club) orders for members. * Maintains all club policies and procedures. * Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed. Qualifications * Prior front line/customer service or sales experience preferred. * Results driven with proven success in goal achievement * Basic math skills preferred. * Computer proficiency preferred. Environmental Job Conditions * Most of the time is spent frequently remaining in a stationary position on hard surfaces. There may be a need to occasionally position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping. * Occasionally requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance. * Located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises. There may be occasional contact with cleaning agents.
